“Christian Piety and God’s Word”

Three Truths:
1) God’s word is divine.
2) God’s Word is perfect.
3) God’s Word is sufficient.

Points:
1) Creating any set of rules or “truths” apart from or in addition to the Word of God invalidates God’s Word and becomes a false religion and sin.
2) When we elevate rules or traditions to authority status we create Christian piety, and authentic righteousness that comes from a true heart is discounted and replaced with a heart that is far from God.

Conclusion:
God’s word is the supreme authority.
The only true hedge we have against sin is Jesus.
