1) Seeking God through human reason rather than divine revelation.
2) Focusing on human works and self-righteousness.
3) Viewing outward appearances and indicators of God’s favor.
4) Distorting the truth of God’s word and denying human sinfulness.

Encouragements:
1) Be grateful for what Christ has done.
2) Be confident in the victory of the cross.
3) Be assured all that God has said will come to pass.
4) Seek the glory of the cross in your life.
